If the Christmas tree at the Emirate Palace hotel in Abu Dhabi enters the Guinness Book of Records it won’t be for its 13 meter-height but because it is the most expensive Christmas tree ever. The decoration of that immoderate tree have cost more than 11 million-dollars (about 8 million-euros) in diamonds, pearls, jewels, emeralds, rubies and other frills. Let’s remember that Christmas is a Christian Holiday the celebration of which is condemned by Muslims… But Abu Dhabi is a very liberal country and hasn’t excessiveness become the Emirates image? Hotel Hans Olbertz manager wants to have his Christmas tree homologated in the Guinness World Record Book. Let’s remember that Abu Dahi is both a city and one of the seven Emirates of the United Arab Emirates in the Persian Gulf. Roma has just instituted a new hotel tax for the 10 millions of tourists who visit the city each year.
Since January 1st, 2011 that tax has been instituted to ALL hotel customers. The tax depends on the hotel:
3 euros per person and per night for four and five star-hotels
2 euros per person and per night for one to three star-hotels

A new Casino Hotel has just been opened in Las Vegas: The Cosmopolitan The project cost about 4 billion-dollars financed by the Deutsche Bank for 2,000 rooms already opened and 1,000 additional rooms to be opened before summer, 12 restaurants, a casino bigger than a soccer pitch (1,500 fruit machines, 80 gaming tables…),52 floors and a terrace with an amazing view on the Strip River… The hotel management is located near the Bellagio Hotel  and is run by John Unwin, former Director of Caesar’s Palace.
